Life: a chequered paradox of dark and light
From wounds can come wings, from depths – heights
Even in the dark you can take flight
Like an owl that can both see and soar in the night.
Called on ever by love; a love from which you cannot hide
Though at times you may try, cannot deny
A love from inside, a love from on high
A love in every breath of nature, every atom of the earth and sky.
Paths that may at times be far from smooth
Even if in keeping with your soul’s truth
Some gritty, ugly, far less than pretty
Some so beautiful and love-infused.
A landscape, perhaps not without its pits and scars
Yet in each a gem that glistens like a coloured star
Making your cloth of life unique
A flawed and miraculous tapestry.
